Traction Lift Removal

Our team received instruction to carry out the full removal of a traction lift due for replacement in a live building on behalf of Titan Elevators LTD.

We were asked to carry out:

Full removal of the all equipment in the lift shaft and motor room.
Supply all lifting equipment required to carry out the task.
Carry out a full site clearance of all materials.

The brief

Lift Removal

We arrived on site and began to check all access and egress routes were viable for the amount of lift equipment that was being removed to be safely moved through the building.

Placed down flooring protection and Transported all lifting equipment and tooling into the building and up to the top floor using the running lift.

We then began the removal process:

Removing all doors and landing equipment

Removing all ancillary equipment

Positioning counter weight onto a super prop and tackling the Lift car using our wurtec rail blocks and lever hoists from our fleet of lifting equipment, Ready to remove main hoist ropes

Tackling the car using Suitable lifting equipment from our large fleet of chain tackles.

Removing all motor room equipment using chain blocks, beam trollies and gantries from our own fleet of lifting equipment.

Lowering the lift car using a chain block whilst Removing all lift shaft equipment, cutting all necessary steel work into manageable pieces and removing them from the lift shaft.

We then carried out a site clearance removing all waste materials into a 20 yard roll on skip to allow one swift clearance keeping building disturbance to a minimum.
